Doug Swanson (Managing Director)

Doug has been in the electrical and data industry for 30 years. He has spent most of his career in the Canterbury area and has an excellent knowledge of many sites that have been altered and modified over the years. He is a Krone Certified Data Designer and Accredited Installer  and has completed projects at many New Zealand banks, government departments and a variety of businesses over the years. Doug has experience in working on projects, managing projects, liaising with contractors and clients, and managing staff.  Operating his own business is a commitment to his objective of providing excellent electrical, data, UPS installation and maintenance services in the Canterbury region. He aims to ensure that The Connection Company is part of your solution.

Marilyn Wilson (Director/Business Manager) 

Marilyn has entered the business after a 20-year career in banking, where she spent time in sales, people development and account management. Marilyn also spent several years working in sales for an IT company and six years running a property management business.  Marilyn’s commitment is to ensure that The Connection Company provides an excellent and timely service to our clients. She is also committed to fostering an exciting and stimulating environment for our staff to develop in, so that they continue to provide our clients with innovative data and electrical solutions.

Sean Te Whata-Wallace (Technician)

Sean joined us as an apprentice in January 2008. Since then he has been involved in many communication and data projects including: installing cabling, aerials and phone systems. He is also working with our property management clients doing electrical servicing.  During 2010 he completed a Mitsubishi training course and has been involved in many heat pump installations, including ducted  systems.  He is our heat pump servicing specialist and a great fault finder.  In 2011 Sean achieved his Fujitsu installers certification. He is now a fourth year apprentice undertaking his apprenticeship through the ETCO link (Electrical Training Company). ETCO is a company supported by the Electrical Contractors Association to develop and train more skilled people for the industry. We look forward to seeing Sean develop his skills under the watchful eyes of our Registered Electricians. Sean hopes to be registered by the end of 2011. Sean is an accredited Fujitsu Installer and is our company Health and Safety Officer.

Aaron Pringle

Aaron has been with the Connection Company since the beginning of 2009. He has been a senior Registered Electrician for 10 years and holds a relevant Eco Smart qualification (providing cost effective solutions to clients that also save energy) and is an ADC Krone Master Installer. Aaron is our Senior Electrician and does most of the servicing for our Property management clients, as well as running larger fit out jobs. We receive a lot of positive feedback from clients and other contractors regarding Aaron and his work. Aaron has a wealth of experience in servicing design for rewiring of older properties and running electrical works for fit outs. As our Senior Electrician, Aaron also carries most of the responsibility for training our apprentices.

Neel Muthu

Neel joined us recently as an apprentice electrician. He has passed his electrical regulation and theory exams and is looking to complete his practical work to become a registered electrician. Neel has been involved in the electrical industry in Fiji and New Zealand since 2006. He is currently involved in our larger contract jobs and we will be providing him with a variety of work over the next year so that he can gain his registration.

Dion Young

Dion has recently joined our team so that he can provide a superior service to our property management clients. Dion has an extensive background in the electrical industry. He has worked in New Zealand and the United Kingdom doing electrical, data and heat pump installations. Dion has been a registered electrician since 1998. 

Carolyn Mason

Carolyn assists our team with administration and payroll. She has been with our team since May 2010. Carolyn has a background in the banking industry and years of experience working for BNZ as a Personal Assistant Extraordinaire and has a wealth of expertise dealing with customers and clients. Carolyn is an integral part of keeping our office running smoothly.
